No Vaccine Boards Turn Away People

The Covid 19 vaccination centers in Andhra Pradesh had a different notice board on Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a call to observe Tika Utsav from April 11 to 14 and directed every state to give vaccine to at least 6 lakh persons every day.

The Prime Minister gave a lengthy speech through a video conference with the Chief Ministers and the Lieutenant Governors to take Tika Utsav on a grand scale.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had written a letter to the Prime Minister himself on April 9 seeking supply of 25 lakh doses.

The state had made all arrangements to celebrate the Tika Utsav anticipating that the Central government would send the required number of doses.

However, the Central government remained silent leave the Tika Utsav to the States, forcing the states to put up No Vaccine boards.

As all the vaccine centers were closed for the day and there was pressure from the people, the Centre had announced sending of 4 lakh vaccine doses from Maharastra by the evening.

Senior officials from the State government wondered how the Prime Minister himself gave a call to observe the Tika Utsav and setting the targets for the states without supplying the required number of dosses.
