Nimmagadda Is An Autocrat, Say Intellectuals

A group of “intellectuals” led by former Right to Information Commissioner P Vijay Babu, demanded that the assembly speaker as well as Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan should take action against Nimmagadda for breach of privilege of the ministers.

Stating that the confrontation between the state government and SEC was unwarranted, Vijay Babu said Nimmagadda was claiming unusual powers following the Supreme Court order.

“In every order, he is threatening the state government showing the court orders as a weapon,” he said.

He alleged that Nimmagadda was behaving in the most autocratic manner and making unwarranted comments on the government’s advisors and ministers.

He demanded that the government should not tolerate Nimmagadda’s attitude, as the latter was disrupting the functioning of the state government.

He said the SEC, being in a Constitutional position, should not undermine another Constitutional institution like the state assembly.

“He cannot make indiscriminate comments and act in whatever manner he can against those who are in Constitutional positions,” Vijay Babu said.

He also found fault with Nimmagadda for visiting temples like Ontimitta by spending public money.

“Why should he make tours to temples in the capacity of SEC?” he asked.
