Nimmagadda Gets Notice From Assembly

State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar on Thursday received a letter from the AP State Assembly seeking his explanation on the privilege notices given against him by two ministers, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana.

AP Assembly secretary P Balakrishnamacharyulu had sent a letter to Nimmagadda asking him to give his explanation to the privileges committee on the ministers’ complaint.

The Assembly secretary also communicated to Nimmagadda that the privileges committee would ask him to appear before it for further examination of the complaints and to listen to him in person. 

The secretary sought to advise the State Election Commissioner to be available to the committee at any point of time, even after his retirement. 

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is retiring as State Election Commissioner on March 31, 2021. 

The Assembly Privileges Committee, which met in Assembly meeting hall on Wednesday directed the secretary to serve notice to Nimmagadda asking him to be available for examination in future. 

It is now to be seen what reply Nimmagadda would send to the Assembly secretary.
