Next Meeting Of Privileges Committee To Decide On Nimmagadda

The next meeting of the Privileges Committee would take a call on the privileges notice against former State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.

This was revealed by committee chairman Kakani Govardhan Reddy, after its meeting in the Assembly Hall on Monday.

The Privileges Committee of the AP Assembly is looking into a complaint by Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana against Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.

It may be recalled that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had written a letter to Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan making some allegations against the two ministers, when he was the SEC.

The two ministers took strong exception to the comments made by Nimmagadda against them in the letter to the Governor.

They have written letters to the privileges committee seeking action against Nimmagadda.

The committee had admitted the letter and started the process.

As Nimmagadda retired, the issue seems to have taken the backseat with the former SEC not making any controversial statements as he did while in office.

However, the privileges committee chairman said that the compliant is active and would be considered in the next meeting.
