National Media Praises Volunteers in AP

The village volunteers’ system in Andhra Pradesh introduced by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is receiving applauds all over.

The role of the volunteers across the state in collecting the data of the people, particularly the foreigners and the foreign returnees, had come handy for the government to take a call on the quarantine.

The volunteers who represent nearly 50 families in every village and town have recorded the data of the people, the health position and those who have come from foreign countries.

The data made the task of the government to identify the suspects of corona virus and keep them in house quarantine or shift them to the isolation wards in the hospitals.

The areas too are being kept clean, completely sanitized to prevent the spread of the disease.

The initiative of the government imposing Janata Curfew for one day and the complete lockdown now for three weeks could be easy task now with the volunteers having the data on hand.

The media across the state had highlighted the contribution of these volunteers in Andhra Pradesh.

More than a dozen national newspapers, television channels and news agencies have highlighted the role played by the volunteers.

Interestingly, some of the national media houses have even went one step forward and suggested the Government of India to have similar mechanism in every state to combat epidemics like this or even to roll out any benefit from the government or to take up house to house survey in future across the state.

While the opposition in Andhra Pradesh is not coming forward to recognize the contribution of the volunteer’s system fearing advantage to the ruling YSR Congress, the nation had recognized their services and it was what Jagan Mohan Reddy said a few months ago that he would set example to the nation.

Volunteers is one such example that was proved worthy to have the data of the households.
