Perni Nani, the former minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP leader, made some open statements mentioning castes.
He said that Kammas and Kapus, who had donated huge sums of money before elections for the victory of the alliance, are now lamenting and are totally upset for not being given appointments to discuss their work or grievances.
"Their lands are also being occupied by MLAs, and they face harassment at multiple levels of administration. They are being extorted Rs 25,000 by TDP ward in-charges and panchayat in-charges for carrying out their duties, which has only deepened resentment among them" Nani said.
Finally, Perni Nani said that such actions could ultimately destroy trust in leadership.
He warned that leaders may end up losing their own supporters by extorting them, and urged that, at the very least, essential needs such as providing urea and other fertilizers to farmers should not be delayed under any circumstances.
