Naidu's SPG asked to surrender in DGP office

Naidu's SPG asked to surrender in DGP office

Hours after the arrest of Telugu Desam Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the AP Skill Development Corporation Scam on Saturday morning, the Andhra Pradesh police issued notices to the central security forces guarding Naidu to surrender before the Director General of Police (DGP) at Mangalagiri.

Since Naidu would have to be in jail at least for a couple of days, the Special Protection Group providing security cover to the TDP chief, would have to report to the DGP office, till he comes out.

After conducting the medical examination on Naidu, the Andhra police made an attempt to shift him to the CID office at Mangalagiri in a flight from Orvakallu airport to Vijayawada.

However, Naidu refused to come by flight and preferred the road. As a result, the cops made arrangement to shift him to Mangalagiri by road in his own convoy via Giddalur and Markapuram.

Naidu made it clear to the reporters that he had not committed any mistake and so, he was not afraid of such cases.

“If I really make a mistake, I am ready to be hanged in public. I shall come out of this case unscathed,” he said.

He said the police had come to his camp last night and created a lot of fuss.

“When I asked them to show the proof of my committing any mistake they failed to produce any such kind of evidence," he told media persons before being shifted to Vijayawada.

"The ruling party is very keen on somehow foisting some false case against me which is highly undesirable," Chandrababu said.
