Naidu sent olive branch to BJP through RK?

Naidu sent olive branch to BJP through RK?

Did Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu send any message to Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the Centre for a truce?

The answer seems to be yes, according to sources from New Delhi.

It is an open secret that it was Naidu who had sent his four Rajya Sabha members – Sujana Chowdary, T G Venkatesh, C M Ramesh and G Mohan Rao into the BJP as part of his long-term strategy to get closer to the BJP.

However, the MPs are more interested in wriggling out of their own troubles rather than helping Naidu.

“They are aware that if they try to lobby for Naidu, their own interests would be affected. Since it is long way to go for the next elections, they will take their own time in bringing about a truce between Naidu and the Centre,” sources said.

But Naidu cannot wait for long, as there is every possibility that YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would dig out corruption during his regime and throw him behind the bars in one case or the other.

So, he is learnt to have sent a message to BJP national leadership through his media friend V Radha Krishna of Andhra Jyothy, who recently had a meeting with BJP national president Amit Shah, that he was ready for a compromise.

Sources said, Radhakrishna, while explaining the political situation in the Telugu states to Shah, broached the subject of Naidu.

He reportedly told Shah that Jagan was particularly targeting a particular community both financially as well as politically and sought the help of the BJP leadership to come to their rescue.

Apparently, he conveyed to Shah that though the BJP might not entertain the TDP for now, Naidu needed the backing of the Centre so that he can avoid being targeted by Jagan in the coming days.

Sources said Shah did not give any such commitment to Radhakrishna, as the BJP has no love lost towards the TDP or Naidu.

However, he told Andhra Jyothy MD that the Centre would keep a tab on the administration of Jagan Mohan Reddy so that he would not target any particular community.
