Naidu responsible for omission of Amaravati!

Naidu responsible for omission of Amaravati!

Who is responsible for the omission of Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh in the revised map of India prepared by Survey of India?

Well, the TDP leaders might be blaming it on YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy saying he had indicated to the Centre about his plans to change the capital from Amaravati to some other place; hence, Amaravati’s name is missing.

But Naidu’s close friend till recently Sujana Chowdary has spilled the beans about the actual reason for Amaravati’s omission in the Indian map. He said it was Naidu who was responsible for the same.

“Naidu has failed to issue a gazette notification declaring Amaravati as the capital city. And without official notification, the Centre cannot include the same in its official records,” Sujana said.

Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh minister for municipal administration Botsa Satyanarana, too blamed Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh being depicted without a capital city in the map published by Survey of India.

Botsa said Naidu had not issued any gazette notification during his five-year term which was wasted on unproductive things. Interestingly, he also accused Sujana Chowdary, who was then in the Union cabinet, for not bringing up the issue of the capital of the state during his tenure.

“How can such people blame the present chief minister on the issue?” he asked.
