Naidu makes ruckus over Bandar port again!

Notwithstanding the clarification given by the YSR Congress party government on the floor of the state assembly, Telugu Desam Party continues to make a ruckus over the reports of handing over of Machilipatnam port to Telangana government.

Naidu, who is said to be away in the US for medical check-up, tweeted on Monday demanding that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government clarify whether it was handing over the Machilipatnam port to Telangana government.

He alleged that the government had earlier issued a secret GO (RT No. 62) on June 28, on handing over Machilipatnam port to Telangana.

“The GO has been kept confidential way from the gaze of public view,” he said.

During the question hour in the assembly a few days ago, Industries and Commerce Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy said the government itself would execute the project if no private developer came forward.

He denied the reports in the social media that a GO was issued handing over the port which had once acted as a port for the landlocked Hyderabad state during the Nizam period.

But, Naidu is not convinced.

“We are very sure about the offer. We can’t sit and watch the Jaganmohan Reddy government giving away the future for which I laid the foundation. Ports are a boon to the coastal state of AP and we can’t let Jagan give them away as a thanksgiving to KCR,” Naidu tweeted.
