Naidu failed as Opposition leader, says Sujana

Naidu failed as Opposition leader, says Sujana

It has been four months since Rajya Sabha member Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary had defected from Telugu Desam Party to Bharatiya Janata Party, along with three other MPs – C M Ramesh, T G Venkatesh and G Mohan Rao.

None of these four MPs has so far made any harsh comments against their former boss, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, though all the other BJP leaders from Andhra including state BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana criticise Naidu now and then.

In fact, out of these four, only Sujana Chowdary has been speaking to media now and then, mostly in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and occasionally attacking YSR Congress government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Of late, Sujana is compelled to make a comment or two against Chandrababu Naidu at least for the sake of media, if not out of his heart.

The other day, he found fault with Naidu for continuing to stay in his rented residence at Vundavalli, though the government declared it as illegal.

On Wednesday, Sujana made yet another critical comment against Naidu. He said the TDP chief has failed to do his duty as an opposition leader.

“The TDP has failed to expose the failures of the Jagan government as an opposition party. It is better Naidu concentrate on targeting the polices and programmes of the YSRC government, rather than personally targeting Jagan,” he said.

He also criticised Naidu for failing to complete the Polavaram irrigation project.

“He could not complete the project despite being in power for five years. Now, the Jagan government has failed to resume the project works even after four months,” Sujana said.

In any case, Sujana’s criticism against Naidu appears to be very superficial, instead of being harsh. His anguish is not against Naidu’s corruption, but that Naidu is not able to expose Jagan’s failures.
