The lack of Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s name on the front page of the official invitation for the re-launch of Amaravati capital city works by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kicked up a debate in the political circles.
Apart from the Prime Minister, the invitation has the name of only chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the front cover of the invitation.
Of course, Pawan Kalyan’s name is there at the top among the invitees attending the event, but in the inside page of the invitation.
This has angered Pawan Kalyan’s fans and Jana Sena Party workers, who have been looking at everything with suspicion these days.
They have been under constant impression that Naidu is not giving importance to Pawan Kalyan much, but is taking independent decisions without consulting deputy CM.
This has led to heated discussions and strong reactions on social media.
Many alleged that this was an intentional slight against Pawan Kalyan, who has been a long-time supporter of Amaravati as the capital.
Acknowledging the backlash, the government reprinted the invitation cards to include Pawan Kalyan’s name.
New invitations featuring the names of PM Modi, Chandrababu Naidu, and Pawan Kalyan are now being distributed, which has helped pacify Jana Sena supporters.
The new invitations are now being distributed among the invitees.
The officials have been visiting the homes of Amaravati farmers and marking their foreheads with kumkum (vermilion) and extending them invitations with both Naidu and Pawan’s names.
The foundation-laying ceremony for the reconstruction of Amaravati is scheduled for May 2, with PM Modi in attendance. Meanwhile, large crowds are being mobilized from across the state to attend the rally.
The chief minister has already held review meetings with coalition leaders to ensure that the event is flawlessly executed.
