TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is trying to woo Reddy leaders, particularly in the Rayalaseema region.
Lokesh is holding meetings with disgruntled Reddy leaders and trying to establish the TDP as the only party that takes care of Reddy and other communities.
He held a meeting in Tadipatri earlier and Kadapa the other day, where he interacted with Reddy leaders from the village level.
The Reddy leaders who backed Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2019 elections are now the most unhappy leaders these days.
They were not given powers and were not paid the contract bills during the last four years. They feel rejected and neglected by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Upon learning about the disgruntlement among some Reddy leaders, Lokesh made an attempt to woo them.
He tried to reach out to them, stating that Reddy leaders were honored by the TDP. He also told the leaders that a Reddy astrologer, Jayarami Reddy, had set the muhurt for his padayatra.
He also informed them that he is taking advice from Reddy leaders, including former MLC Deepak Reddy, party spokesman G V Reddy, and others.
Lokesh also told them that he has Reddy leaders in his team, including his security personnel.
Lokesh also tried to entice the Reddy community by promising better treatment and a better place in the party and government for Reddy leaders if the TDP is voted to power.
It remains to be seen how far these efforts of Lokesh bring the Reddy community towards the TDP in the next elections.
Whether the Reddy leaders will reject Jagan Mohan Reddy and embrace Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh for pending bills is yet to be seen!
