Lokesh Heads to Delhi for Key Talks with PM Modi

Education Minister Nara Lokesh is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday evening.

Lokesh, who was touring Anantapur on Friday, cut short his visit and returned to Hyderabad after receiving confirmation of the appointment from the PMO.

The meeting follows two earlier invitations from the Prime Minister. During the recent relaunch of Amaravati Capital works, Modi had interacted with Lokesh and encouraged him to visit Delhi. Lokesh subsequently sought an appointment, which was granted.

As a key partner in the NDA government, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has a significant stake at the Centre.

While the exact agenda remains undisclosed, sources suggest that Lokesh may brief the PM on Andhra Pradesh’s condition following five years of YSR Congress rule and outline steps taken by the new TDP-led government to restore development.

Major issues like funding for Amaravati, the Polavaram project, and other infrastructure initiatives are likely to be discussed.

Lokesh is also expected to present a coffee table book documenting his Yuvagalam padayatra to the Prime Minister.

There is also growing speculation that Lokesh may be assigned a larger role within the party at the upcoming Mahanadu in Kadapa, potentially positioning him as the party’s future supreme leader.
