JC Brothers: A Blessing in Disguise for YSRCP?

JC Brothers: A Blessing in Disguise for YSRCP?

Senior TDP leader and Tadipatri Municipal Chairman JC Prabhakar Reddy is once again at the center of controversy.

Known for his abrasive language and fearless attitude, JC’s conduct is drawing widespread criticism across Andhra Pradesh — from intellectuals, civil society, and the general public alike.

JC’s recent behavior has sparked debates on the erosion of democratic norms.

While he has long been targeting his political rival Kethireddy Pedda Reddy and obstructing his entry into Tadipatri, even in defiance of High Court orders, his latest actions have taken things further.

In a fresh controversy, JC lashed out at Tadipatri ASP Rohit Kumar Choudhary, accusing him of accepting hefty bribes from power grid contractors.

Speaking to the media, JC ridiculed the officer using informal terms and warned that he, along with his wife and daughter-in-law, would visit the ASP's office to demand justice.

Just a few days ago, JC verbally abused Anantapur District Panchayat Officer Nagaraju Naidu, even threatening physical assault in public.

These actions are raising serious concerns among government employees and the public, eroding trust in the ruling coalition.

Interestingly, the YSRCP appears to be taking advantage of JC’s outbursts.

Despite clear directions from the High Court, the police have allegedly delayed implementing court orders — something many see as benefiting the YSRCP politically.

By occasionally allowing Kethireddy Pedda Reddy to make a move and then using police to block him, the YSRCP seems to be sending a message of curtailed freedoms in the state.

The more JC acts out, the worse the image for the TDP and its alliance, something YSRCP is quietly celebrating.

The opposition party believes that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will not reprimand JC, and that leaving him unchecked will only benefit YSRCP in the political arena.

This has led to murmurs that with someone like JC within TDP’s fold, the alliance doesn't need any external enemies — the damage is being done from within.
