Jagan to take governance to people from Sept

It has been nearly three months since YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power.

Though Jagan began showing his mark on the administration from the day one itself by setting the agenda of development and welfare before the bureaucracy, what he has done so far is mostly to understand the nitty-gritty of the administration, functioning of the bureaucratic set-up and bringing the right people into right places to implement his plan of action.

Jagan conducted review meetings with all departments to understand the functioning of the system.

He tried to push through some of his ideas aggressively, but soon he has realized that it requires a lot of planning before implementing them.

He also tried to make a study of long-term implications of his decisions, especially their political consequences.

Like Jagan, most of his ministers are inexperienced in administration and so, it obviously took him some time to bring the administration into his grip.

Now, according to party sources, Jagan has decided to activate the entire administration in accordance with his plans and show the real governance to the people with effect from September.

He is planning to tour districts to oversee implementation of the promises made in his manifesto at the ground level.

He will conduct meetings with the people in the name of “Racha Banda,” where he will directly interact with them to receive a feedback from them on the implementation of the schemes.

Already, instructions have been issued to the administration at all levels, besides the party rank and file.

In all probability, it will start from September 2 in Chittoor, where his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had planned to conduct the programme but died in a helicopter crash on his way.

It remains to be seen how far Jagan will succeed in his attempt.
