Jagan To Hold Meetings With Warring Groups

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to hold a meeting with troublemakers in the party, particularly the warring groups.

There are several sitting MLAs who face opposition within the party in their respective Assembly constituencies.

The infighting is openly visible and has the potential to grow stronger, which could impact the 2024 general election.

The major trouble arises in the Mylavaram Assembly constituency of NTR district, followed by Gannavaram in Krishna district.

In Mylavaram, sitting MLA Vasantha Venkata Krishna Prasad is experiencing trouble with Minister Jogi Ramesh, who has set his sights on the seat.

Ramesh lost the Mylavaram Assembly constituency in the 2014 election and is currently representing the Pedana Assembly constituency.

Mylavaram is Jogi Ramesh's home constituency, but he won from Pedana first in 2009 and then in 2019.

He intends to return to the Mylavaram Assembly constituency and has been focusing on the segment, leading to conflict with sitting MLA Krishna Prasad.

The conflict between the two has proven costly for the party, as they lost the Kondapalli Municipality in the last election.

The major fight is taking place in the Gannavaram constituency of Krishna district, currently represented by Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan.

Party leaders Yarlagadda Venkatra and Dutta Ramachandra Rao are openly criticizing Vamsi, who defected from the TDP.

Sources indicate that the chief minister has made up his mind to hold talks with these leaders and others where sitting MLAs have rivals in their constituencies.

This effort is likely aimed at bringing the warring leaders closer together to end the infighting ahead of the next general election.
