Jagan may decline dy speaker post offer

AP chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday told party MPs that there was no need for an alliance with the BJP, indicating that he is not prepared to accept any posts at the Centre including the Lok Sabha deputy speakership.

The decision is in tune with his pre-election stand that YSRC will support any political party that would give special category status to AP. Since the BJP has not yet responded positively on the SCS issue, he wants to wait.

Jagan was addressing the parliamentary party meeting of YSRCP in Delhi on Saturday.

He, however, said there was no need for the MPs to go into a fighting mode with the BJP-led Central government.

“We will have some good relations with the BJP. There is no rivalry nor friendly relationship with the BJP as of now. Our relationship is healthy,” said party MP from Hindupur Gorantla Madhav.
