Jagan invites Modi to launch 'Rythu Bharosa'

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch 'Rythu Bharosa' scheme for farmers in Andhra Pradesh on October 15.

The ‘Rythu Bharosa’ programme, which is one of the ‘Navratnas’ (9 election promises by Jagan), will be implemented at a cost of ₹13,125 crore.

Under the scheme, all farmers (including tenant farmers) will get ₹12,500 a year as an incentive or input subsidy before the sowing (Rabi and Kharif) seasons begin.

The scheme was originally slated for launch in 2020 but Jagan has decided to advance the scheme to benefit farmers.

The previous TDP government implemented “Annadata Sukhibhava” scheme to provide input subsidy for farmers.

However, after Jagan became CM in May this year, he scrapped TDP’s scheme and introduced Rythu Bharosa scheme.
