Jagan holds private meeting with CJI Ramana

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had a one-on-one meeting with chief justice of India Justice N V Ramana in Vijayawada on Saturday afternoon.

Though it was expected that the chief minister would meet Justice Ramana personally after the civic reception at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada after 5 pm, the schedule was suddenly changed.

Jagan, along with his wife Bharati, who returned from Pulivendula in the afternoon, straightaway drove to Hotel Novotel, where the CJI is staying. The chief minister spent over an hour with Ramana.

Though officially, it is said to be a courtesy call, Jagan is believed to have discussed the legal hurdles his government has been facing on implementation of various policy decisions. He explained to the CJI his government’s priorities.

Sources said there might be another round of meeting between the chief minister and the chief justice on Sunday also, at the hi-tea to be hosted by Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan in the evening.
