Jagan Gives 2193 Jobs To DSC 2008 Candidates

By an order, the Andhra Pradesh government had given jobs to 2193 candidates of the 2008 District Selection Committee (DSC) exam.

The candidates, who lost the job opportunity in that year after passing the qualifying exam, have been making repeated representations to the successive governments.

They lost the chance, as the recruitment pattern was changed after conducting the qualifying test.

The government had given only 30 per cent of the jobs to the Diploma in Education (D Ed) candidates while leaving 70 per cent jobs to those who have passed Bachelor of Education (B Ed).

Those who have lost the opportunity due to change of the recruitment policy made a representation to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy during his historic padayatra before the 2019 general elections.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to address their issue sympathetically following which it was cleared finally on Monday.

The government had issued orders taking 2193 candidates of the 2008 DSC on contract basis as Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs).

The teachers unions in the state have welcomed the decision as it helps the families of these unfortunate teacher candidates.
