Jagan eyes new layouts to fund housing scheme!

The Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which has been facing serious financial crunch to implement his welfare schemes, is looking for newer methods to mobilise additional financial resources.

The latest plan of the Jagan government to mobilise funds for the Jagananna Housing scheme is to target the realtors, who are proposing to develop new ventures and sell them to customers. This way, the government could get considerable money from the builders.

According to this plan, the government issued orders asking for the realtors to hand over 5 per cent of their land in the residential or commercial layouts to the government.

"Any municipality or municipal corporation wants to give layout approval to any of the realtors, they should put a condition that five per cent of the land layout would have to be given to government. The government would either sell or construct double bedroom houses for weaker sections.

If the layout doesn’t have sufficient area of land for giving 5 per cent of it to the government, the realtor should buy same amount of land within three kilometres of the layout and hand over the same to the district collector.

Alternatively, the realtor can also pay the cost of the five per cent of land and despot the same to the government. The land and the money would be utilised to fund the prestigious Jagananna housing scheme proposal of the government," he said.
