Jagan comes to rescue of Covid victims' children

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy does not want to leave any opportunity to extend welfare to the people of all sections, which has helped him consolidate his vote bank at the grassroots level.

On Monday, Jagan came up with a scheme that would help children who have become orphans due to the death of their parents on account of Covid-19, so that they would not face financial difficulties in the coming days.

Jagan said the fight against the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic has left many children unsafe and vulnerable, especially the kids who lost their parents due to the deadly virus. Stating that the future of these kids is at risk, he decided to work on creating security for these orphaned children.

Jagan said a fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh for each and every orphan child. He instructed the officials to carve out a financial package with the banks and that this amount will be under a fixed deposit until the child turns 25 years.

The chief minister also asked the officials to work on providing best interest amount that the child/guardian can receive every month and asked the officials to get back with an action plan for the same.
