I Won't Follow Anybody, Says Kesineni

Telugu Desam Party MP Kesineni Nani, who has fielded his daughter Swetha Kesineni for the Vijayawada Mayor post, is putting up an aggressive posture in the wake of threat from rebels within the party in the Municipal Corporation elections.

He told a television channel that there was no need for him to run after others seeking help, but those who want the party to win the elections should come after him.

“I won’t follow anybody; only others should follow me,” he said.

It is obvious that Kesineni made the comments keeping in mind the rebellion from his bitter rival in the party Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao, TDP MLC.

“I have the people’s support and I will see that the TDP wins the Mayor post. Those who lost the elections in the past are causing damage to the party. What is wrong in changing the candidates who cannot win the elections?” he asked.

Kesineni said people would support only those who have calibre and character, but not those who are corrupt and conspirators.

“It is the time all the TDP leaders to work unitedly for the party’s victory in the corporation elections. But some people within the party are trying to damage its interests,” he said.

Stating that he and his daughter were not running after the posts, Kesineni said he was working for the party and not for his personal gains.

“Hope Chandrababu Naidu realises these conspirators and keep them in control. It is better or the party,” he said.
