Hyderabad Cop Quits In Favour Of 3 Capitals!

A constable working under Hyderabad police commissionerate in Telangana on Thursday resigned from his post in support of the three capitals for Andhra Pradesh.

The constable, Basava Rao, working in Humayun Nagar police station near Mehdipatna, submitted his resignation to commissioner of police Anjani Kumar, though he still has another 10 years of service.

Incidentally, Basava Rao belongs to Kuragallu village of Mangalagiri mandal that falls under Amaravati capital region, where majority of the people are agitating against shifting of the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam.

Speaking to reporters, the constable said he would fully support the decision taken by YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to create three capitals for the state for decentralised administration.

At the same, Basava Rao lashed out at the previous Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu. He alleged that the Naidu government had forcibly acquired his lands in the name of land pooling for Amaravati.

He announced that he would play active role in campaigning in favour of three capitals’ decision taken by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
