Don't need apologies, says Bhuvaneshwari

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu said in the past that his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari had never interfered in politics and had been confined to her own activities. He regretted that she was unnecessarily targeted by the YSR Congress party leaders.

On Monday, Bhuvaneshwari, too, sought to give the same impression that she was not interested in politics. But at the same time, she could not hide her displeasure over the comments made against her in the state assembly.

Refusing to be drawn into political controversies, Bhunaveshwari, in an informal chat with media persons, said some persons were making meaningless allegations against her family.

“I am not bothered about such a talk, but it has certainly hurt me,” she said.

She wondered how did such ugly comments help the society.

“Women are not toys to play with. They are the foundation for the society. One should not make comments against women at their will,” she said.

Reacting to the apology tendered by Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi on the comments he had made against her, Bhuvaneshwari said she did not need apologies from anybody.

“Those who made comments against me would pay for their sins in future. I only request them to treat everybody with affection, rather than hatred. They should learn to do service for others, not damage,” she said.

On her husband, Bhuvaneshwari said the people of the state were very much aware of his style of functioning. He had toiled day and night for the state.

“It is unfortunate that such a person had to burst into tears over that unwarranted incident. He is committed to the service of the people,” she added.
