Cold War Brewing In Tirumala?

A cold war of sorts appears to be brewing on the sacred hills of Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateshwara, with a group led by honourary head priest A V Ramana Deekshitulu campaigning against the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

This group is targeting TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy, executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal and Additional EO Dharma Reddy, and most importantly officer on special duty at the temple Dollar Seshadri.

On Monday, the TTD lodged a complaint with the Tirupati police seeking action against S V Badri, a close associate of Ramana Deekshitulu under Epidemiological Diseases Act of 1897 for spreading false information about Dollar Seshadri’s health.

Badri tweeted: “I understand that Dollar Seshadri tested positive and admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. Is it true? Why don’t cm @ysjagan & @yvsubbareddymp listen to sane advice and allow kainkaryam in Ekantham? How are both Jeeyangars? Take immediate decision or face consequences of Karma.”

The TTD clarified that Dollar Seshadri would routinely undergo medical check-up once in two years and his latest treatment at Apollo Hospital at Chennai was part of this routine check-up.

“He was also tested negative for Covid-19 three times. Yet, Badri chose to spread the misinformation that Seshadri had tested positive,” the TTD said.

What angered the TTD was the way Badri targeted even chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He also blamed it on Jagan, Subba Reddy and the TTD officials – Singhal, Dharma Reddy and Seshadri for the death of the senior most priests of Tirumala Srinivasa Murthy Diskhitulu on Monday morning.

“Shame on you @ysjagan @yvsubbareddymp and the terrible trio of EO, Dharma Reddy and Dollar Seshadri,” Badri tweeted.

When some follower pointed out that Subba Reddy had rushed to Vijayawada to meet CM and brief about the Tirumala developments, Badri described it as nonsense.

“Both are caught up busy in a non-related CBI inquiry today and this (Tirumala issue) is in backburner. Even both Jeeyangars positive. What are they waiting for?” Badri asked.
