Ayyanna feeling betrayed by Naidu?

Ayyanna feeling betrayed by Naidu?

All these days, former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam district, Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu. is considered to be strong loyalist in the party and a trusted lieutenant of party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

But not anymore. According to party sources, Ayyanna is seething with anger at Naidu for ignoring him and betraying his faith in the party. The fact that he stayed away from the TDP chief’s recent meeting at Tuni is believed to be an indication to a possible revolt against the party in the coming days.

Why is Ayyanna angry with Naidu? Sources said the former minister was upset when he got the indications from the party that his son Chintakayala Rajesh would not be given the party ticket for Anakapalle Lok Sabha seat, as it is being allocated to the Jana Sena Party as part of alliance.

In fact, Naidu had assured Ayyanna in the past that Rajesh would be fielded from Anakapalle Lok Sabha constituency in 2024. But now, Naidu had changed his mind due to understanding with the Jana Sena Party.

Secondly, Ayyanna also got the hint that he, too, would not be given the TDP ticket for Narsipatnam assembly seat, as internal surveys commissioned by the party indicated that he might lose the seat, because he had lost his credibility among the people.

Sources said if at all Naidu wants to acknowledge the services of Ayyanna family to the party, he might give the party ticket to Rajesh, but not Ayyanna, from Narsipatnam. Even then, there is no guarantee that the TDP will win the seat.

It is learnt Ayyanna could not get the appointment of Naidu in the recent past, despite trying several times. He is upset that the TDP chief has not bothered to give audience to a senior leader like him.

At least for now, Ayyanna has no alternative but to continue in the TDP, as he cannot join the YSR Congress party which has troubled him a lot. So, he is in a state of confusion on his future plans, sources said.
