At TTD, AP Takes A Forward Step

The AP government had taken one forward step at the prestigious and biggest temple in the state, Tirupati.

The government had decided to constitute a committee to study and make recommendations on appointment of priests in the Tirumala temple on permanent basis.

The priests are drafted from the hereditary rights for the temple as per the existing practice.

The government formed a one-man committee to study the hereditary rights of the priests and providing permanent rights to them.

The system has to be kept in place once for ever giving no room for controversies or disputes in future.

The government appointed Justice Sivashankara Rao as chairman of the one-man committee to study and make recommendations.

Justice Sivashankara Rao is also the chairman of the judicial preview committee, which looks into all tender notifications issued by the government.

The committee was asked to study the temples system, priests’ system in Tirumala and elsewhere in other states.

States like Tamil Nadu and Kerala have the priests’ permanent system, which would also be looked.

The priests at the Tirupati Tirumala Devastanams have been making the demand for permanent arrangement for them.

The committee appointed by the government would end this problem and make permeant arrangement for the priests to serve in the temple.
