At last, Konathala finds rehabilitation in Jana Sena!

It has been a long time since one has heard about former minister and ex-MP Konathala Ramakrishna.

After parting ways with the YSR Congress party in 2014, he has been keeping away from active politics, though he has been championing the cause of north Andhra in his own way.

Now, after a long gap of nearly 10 years, Konathala appears to have found his rehabilitation in politics. On Wednesday, he came to Hyderabad and met power star Pawan Kalyan and evinced interest in joining Jana Sena Party.

Sources said Pawan Kalyan had invited the former minister into the party and it might happen in the next few days.

“Apparently, Pawan is of the view that the entry of Konathala will boost the party’s prospects in north Andhra,” sources said.

It is learnt Konathala is interested in contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Anakapalle parliamentary constituency, which he had represented between 1989 and 1996. He held important posts in the party at the national level.

He won the assembly elections in 2004 and served as the cabinet minister for commercial taxes, excise and law till 2009.

After the death of YSR, Konathala joined the YSRCP and became the chairman of the party’s political affairs committee.

After quitting the YSRCP in 2014, Konathala has been keeping away from politics and fighting on the issues concerning north Andhra.
