APNGOs' leader changes tune, praises Jagan

Within a day of making aggressive statements against YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that the employees would pull down his government, AP non-gazetted officers union leader changed his tune and praised the chief minister.

APNGO’s union leader Bandi Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday said his comments made an internal meeting were completely distorted and projected as if he was against the Jagan government.

“We are part of the government, not against it,” he said.

Giving a clarification on his comments, Srinivasa Rao said the chief minister was like a father for the people of the state and the employees were part of it.

“It is quite common that the employees get upset when their demands are not met, just like children who get angry with their parents at times,” he said.

The NGOs leader went to the extent of describing Jagan as employee-friendly.

“I am sure he is in favour of resolving the demands of the employees and we have a strong belief that he won’t adopt a stubborn stand. If he is adamant, how can he say that he would announce the Pay Revision Commission report within 10 days?” he asked.

Srinivasa Rao said if the chief minister announced a favourable PRC report, he would be the first among the employees to perform milk bath and flower bath to him.

However, another APNGO leader Bopparaju Venkateshwarlu said there was a strong anti-government feeling among the employees.

“We played a major role in bringing Jagan to power. But his government has been ignoring the employees,” he alleged.

It was only on Monday that the NGO leaders threatened to pull down the Jagan government.

“We believed the words of the person who said he had heard our problems and he was there with us. We got him 151 seats. But he cheated us. Chandrababu Naidu paid the penalty for neglecting the employees and the present government, too, would meet the same fate,” Srinivasa Rao warned.
