AP debts will mount to Rs 11 lakh cr in 2024: Naidu

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed concern over the growing debt burden of the state, which he said, would mount to Rs 11 lakh crore by 2024.

"The Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the state has borrowed loans indiscriminately, as a result of which the debts have mounted to Rs 8 Lakh crore in just three years. He is sure to make another Rs 3 lakh crore loans in the next two years,” he said, addressing party workers at Visakhapatnam.

“Who will pay all this debt? Ultimately, every family in the state will have to share this burden," Naidu said.

The TDP chief asserted that his party always stood for development, while Jagan Mohan Reddy had already proved what unlimited destruction his party could inflict on the state.

“The TDP will come back to power to bring the State back on the path of prosperity. If the people have to enjoy a better future, the TDP has to rule the state for next 30 years,” he said.

Naidu asserted that Jagan Reddy's leg was an 'iron leg' and nothing good would come of it for the people.

“If anybody had A/C, their ration cards were being cut. If anybody consumed more than 300 units in any month, they were cutting Amma Vodi. But Nanna Buddi 'Badudu' will continue as usual through J-brands. They were not stopping to pick the pockets of husbands and fathers,” he said.

The TDP chief accused the YSRCP of bringing total destruction in just three years.

“Why should the TDP be afraid of false cases and arrests? Freedom fighters were implicated and jailed. Now, the TDP leaders and general public were being implicated for fighting for preservation of democracy,” he said.

Naidu said the next TDP regime would form an administrative tribunal to punish all those who were guilty of harassing and victimising the TDP activists now.
