Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh was the hottest Indian city on Friday (April 5) with a maximum temperature of 43.7°C, according to a list of cities with highest maximum temperature released by IMD.
It was followed by Kurnool (43.5°C), Bhubaneswar (43.5°C), Kalaburagi (43.3°C), Ananthapuram (43.1°C), Solapur (43.1°C), Rentachintala (43°C), Kadapa (42.8°C), Tirupati (42.4°C), Chandrapur (42.4°C).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) advised residents to brace for continued sweltering conditions in Telugu states.
Vulnerable populations, including infants, young children, outdoor workers, pregnant women, and those with pre-existing health conditions, were urged to take extra precautions.
Additionally, citizens are advised to stay informed about local weather conditions and to seek immediate medical attention if experiencing any symptoms of heat-related illness.
