Ambati Rayudu confirmed for Guntur LS

Within a couple of days after stating that he had not yet decided which platform to choose for entering politics, popular Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has given a clear indication that he will be joining the ruling YSR Congress party.

Rayudu, who has been touring different parts of Guntur district for the last three days, spoke highly of the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the state and its welfare programs.

He told reporters that the education sector has significantly improved during the Jagan government's four-year tenure, with government schools functioning excellently.

"The government has implemented various reforms in the education sector, and they are yielding wonderful results," he said.

Rayudu also praised the Jagan government for its excellent support to the farming community.

"I have spoken to numerous farmers, and they are very pleased with the Jagan government's extensive support," he said.

The cricketer, who visited several Rythu Bharosa Kendras, stated that these centers established by the government have been instrumental in assisting farmers during the crop season.

"These schemes have inspired me to enter politics," he said.

Rayudu mentioned that he learned about serving the people from his grandfather and will soon unveil his plan of action in politics.

"I will make the announcement after touring all parts of Guntur district," he added.

The fact that Rayudu has decided to join the YSRCP is evident from the way he is surrounded by YSRCP workers during his village tours. He has been accompanied by local party functionaries.

While Rayudu denied making a decision on contesting from the Guntur parliamentary constituency in the next elections, YSRC sources indicated that Jagan had already assured him of a party ticket from the same constituency.

Therefore, the Guntur LS constituency in 2024 is expected to witness an intriguing Kamma-Kapu battle, making it an interesting contest.
