10 Years In Existence: What Did Pawan Achieve?

10 Years In Existence: What Did Pawan Achieve?

In politics, ten years is not a small period, especially in Indian democracy where a government's term is for five years.

Pawan Kalyan launched Jana Sena ten years ago after the Praja Rajyam's debacle. When he launched the party, there was no time for him to contest the elections as the state was fully occupied with bifurcation issues and heading for elections.

He was justified in not contesting the election in 2014 after forming the party, but he is not justified in supporting one regional party (TDP) against another regional party (YSRCP).

Right from day one of forming the party, Pawan Kalyan had been working with a single motto of preventing the YSR Congress from coming to power.

He worked with the same motive in 2014 and 2019. His slogan was to ensure that Jagan Mohan Reddy is not made the chief minister.

Now, ahead of the 2024 general election, the Jana Sena chief's only aim is to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress!

In 2014, he shared the dais with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, and in 2019, he tried to help Naidu by splitting the anti-government vote, but he did not succeed.

Now, his only objective is to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy. The irony is that he knows that his party activists rally behind him at the meetings but vote for Jagan Mohan Reddy in the election.

No political party can survive with a slogan of defeating another party or by helping another party to wrest power!

Pawan Kalyan has no agenda for the people, the state, or himself. He talks about Kapus unity in one meeting and says in another meeting that he is not for any particular caste.

The inconsistency continues with him even after a decade of existence in politics. The other day, he said his alliances are open and would not have any hidden agenda or alliance.

But in reality, everyone knows that he is aligned with the TDP and is bargaining for more seats!

The pity is that after ten years, neither the leader nor the cadre are in a position to state the party's political and ideological line.
