Nostalgia: Shooting Fever In Remote Village

Watching film stars and film shooting is a wonderful amusement for Telugu population and here is an incident from 70s. The shooting of the film 'Madhura Swapnam' starring Krishnam Raju and Jayaprada was held at Pattepuram, a small hamlet near Nindrakolanu and Chebrolu in West Godavari District. Krishnam Raju has chosen that place as he has an affluent relative named Murthy Raju in that place. Krishnam Raju used Murthy Raju's house and other places in the village for shooting.

The intersting aspect is that the entire village population used to make it a daily activity to watch the shooting. As the shooting held there for quite long time, the people have got habituated to watch everyday. Some people used to get up early in the morning as usual and after getting fresh they used to go to shooting spot. They used to feel that it was their responsibility to watch the shooting as that was happening in their place. There used to be one and only college in that village and almost all the students used to bunk the classes to watch shooting. The teaching department was also liberal with students for those days. The reason was, the lecturers also used to enjoy watching the shooting. There was no check from the management of the college as well in this regard as the correspondent was again Murthy Raju.

On a whole, the shooting of that film turned a marvelous experience for the village people of Pattepuram.
