Gollapudi Maruthi Rao shared his childhood happenings and said where the seed was sown in his head to become a writer.
He said, "I was born on 14th April 1939 in Vijayanagaram. Ours is a middle class family. My primary education was completed at CBM School in the same town. When I was about 10-12 years of age, I used to go to purana sravanam along with my mother. Meduri Appanna Sastry garu used to recite puranam. That program influenced me a lot and I used to write notes what I listened in that puranam. From then zeal to express something by my own was started".
Gollapudi has now penned good novels, travelogues and stories. He is also a renowned actor and that is known for all Telugus.
