It was exactly on this day last year that a 39-year-old woman died in a tragic stampede at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere show of Allu Arjun-starred film “Pushpa-2: The Rule.”
Her 10-year-old son Sri Tej who was also crushed in the stampede managed to survive, but he continues to be in a semi-conscious state and bed-ridden with no signs of recovery in the immediate future.
On the occasion of one-year of the tragedy, television channels revisited the incident and highlighted the trauma that has been haunting the family of Bhaskar, who lost his wife and whose son is still struggling to return to normal condition.
Leading film producer and chairman of Telangana film development corporation Dil Raju called Bhaskar to his office and discussed the problems he has been facing in providing treatment to Sri Tej.
Dil Raju reiterated that the film industry stands firmly behind the family and will continue to extend full support. He said Allu Arjun’s family deposited a corpus of Rs 2 crore for Sri Teja’s long-term needs.
The interest generated from this fund is being routed every month to Sri Teja’s father to ensure sustained financial support.
He further stated that medical expenses amounting to nearly Rs 70 lakh have already been paid during Sri Teja’s treatment.
In addition to this, actor Allu Arjun is bearing the complete cost of Sri Teja’s ongoing rehabilitation at a specialized centre.
“Sri Teja’s health is gradually stabilising. The team of Allu Arjun has been consistently responsive and supportive in every possible way,” Dil Raju noted.
Sri Teja’s father also acknowledged that the Allu Arjun team has stood by the family since the incident and helped them through multiple challenges.
Despite the extensive assistance so far, the family indicated that additional financial support will be required as Sri Teja continues his recovery journey.
Discussions have been held with Dil Raju regarding these needs, and the producer has assured them that he will make every effort to provide further help.
