During a recent group interview for Andhra King Taluka promotions, Ram Pothineni surprised fans by revealing an interesting chapter from his early career.
He said that “Ustaad” was not the first moniker associated with him. In fact, he once had a different tag given by his fans. But he stopped using it after “another star” adopted it and began using it consistently in films and credits.
Ram didn’t disclose the name of the actor, but social media quickly jumped into speculation mode. Many believe he was hinting at Allu Arjun.
Fans pointed out that Ram was briefly referred to as the “Stylish Star” after a few early hits, around the same time Allu Arjun began using the same title.
However, Allu Arjun’s fans countered this, noting that he was credited as the “Style Star” in Bunny (2005), a year before Ram made his debut with Devadas in 2006.
They argue that “Style Star” and “Stylish Star” are distinct, and that Allu Arjun never took anyone else’s tag.
Regardless of the speculation, Ram has moved on and now proudly uses “Ustaad Ram Pothineni” across posters and credits, while Allu Arjun has transitioned to the title “Icon Star.”
