War 2 Box Office Day 3: Collections Drop Sharply

War 2, the latest installment in the YRF Spy Universe, saw its earnings dip on its third day at the box office.

The film collected an estimated ₹33.25 crore nett in India on Saturday, August 16, bringing its three-day total to ₹142.6 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.

The action thriller, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, had a strong start with a ₹52 crore opening day, followed by an even stronger ₹57.35 crore on Day 2.

However, Day 3 collections dropped by 42%, highlighting the volatility in its early box office run.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, War 2 is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War.

Made on a reported budget of ₹300–400 crore, the film also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.

While the first two days hinted at record-breaking potential, the sharp decline on Saturday raises questions about its staying power at the box office.

The Independence Day holiday boost is behind it, and the coming weekdays will now decide if War 2 can maintain momentum and recover its massive investment.
