USA Box Office: Very Low Performance on Saturday

The North American box office witnessed a dull Saturday with all major new Telugu and Tamil releases posting disappointing numbers, raising concerns about their post-weekend run.

Mithra Mandali continued its poor trend with a Day 3 gross of just $4,000, taking its total collection to $56.5K. With negative reviews and weak audience traction, the film’s prospects of recovery appear bleak.

Dude performed better comparatively but still couldn’t post a strong Saturday surge. It earned $151K on Day 2, taking the total to $482K. Out of this, Tamil contributed $282K, while Telugu added $200K. Despite a stronger opening, the pace suggests it will need solid weekday collections to stay in the race.

Telusu Kada, which had a moderate opening, collected $84K on Day 2, taking its total to $270K. The film’s performance remains underwhelming given its pre-release buzz, and Saturday numbers haven’t shown any significant jump.

K-Ramp, which had its premieres and Day 1 on Saturday, managed a total of $96.5K, with $45K coming from premieres alone. While better than Mithra Mandali and Telusu Kada, the opening isn’t strong enough to signal a long theatrical run.

With very low Saturday numbers across the board, Sunday becomes crucial for these films to build momentum. Without a significant pickup, trade analysts fear most titles could face a steep drop post-weekend.
