The Christmas weekend brought joy to Indian films. Nani’s “Shyam Singha Roy” and Ranveer Singh’s Hindi film “83” were the new releases last weekend.
Nani’s “Shyam Singha Roy” reached near half a million mark in the first weekend. And Ranveer Singh’s film scored $1.7M from 481 theaters with $3,662 per location.
Nani’s film has posted average numbers. But he has been going through a dull phase. Taking this into account, the near half-million haul is impressive.

Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa” saw some good growth as well. It has raked another 150k dollars in its second weekend taking the total to $2.1 million gross. The film needs another 200k dollars to break even.
The long holiday period has come as a blessing to 'Pushpa'.
