Two YCP MLAs ready to quit on three capitals

Two YCP MLAs ready to quit on three capitals

Two of the ruling YSR Congress MLAs have expressed their readiness to quit the posts in support of the decentralisation.

The two MLAs dared the opposition TDP MLAs to quit if they oppose decentralisation or support Amaravati as the only capital.

MLAs Mutthamsetti Srinivas and Karanam Dharmasri announced their readiness to quit the posts and seek re-election on three capitals.

They made this announcement at a meeting in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Dharmasri went one step forward and submitted his resignation to the Joint Action Committee leaders.

Dharmasri dared TDP AP unit president and Tekkali MLA K Atchennaidu to send his resignation and seek re-election on Amaravati issue.

The YSR Congress MLAs alleged that the real estate business is behind the Amaravati padayatra.

They took strong exception to the Amaravati real estate farmers taking up padayatra to Arasavalli temple against three capitals.

The meeting resolved to organise a massive procession in Visakhapatnam on October 15 in support of the decentralisation.

The meeting also formed a joint action committee to conduct counter programmes in support of three capitals and against the Amaravati real estate farmers.

It is now to be seen how the TDP MLAs would respond to the challenge thrown by the ruling party leaders.

The TDP leaders who are behind the Amaravati yatra and who have been opposing the decentralisation plans of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government are yet to respond to the move.
