Tollywood Waiting For Someone To Bell The Cat!

Tollywood Waiting For Someone To Bell The Cat!

According to Shekhar Kapoor, movie theaters will remain shut for another year.

He advised the big stars of Bollywood to release their movies on OTT platforms rather than waiting for the theaters to open.

“Theatres are not going to open for at least a year. So all hype around the first weeks business of 100+ crores is dead. So the theatrical Star System is dead. Stars will have to go to existing OTT platforms or stream films themselves through their own apps. Technology is quite simple,” he wrote on Twitter.

Not just Bollywood biggies, even Tollywood producers are playing the waiting game rather than going the OTT way at this moment.

Luckily, none of the Telugu big ticket movies were ready for release before the crisis hit. Only a few mid-range movies are waiting for this crisis to be over so that they could hit the theaters.

Although a couple of producers are considering ‘direct-to-digital’ release, they are waiting for the others to take the first step in that direction.

All the producers and actors of the unreleased movies are thinking alike. They want someone to bell the cat so that they can follow the suit.

Most of the producers and trade circles are hoping that everything will be back to normal by October.
