Thug Life was promoted as a big Pan-India film, expected to work across the country. But things have gone the other way. The film is struggling badly, especially in the Hindi market.
On Day 1, the Hindi version collected just Rs 65 lakhs. On Day 2, it dropped to Rs 30 lakhs. Even on Saturday, it made only Rs 24 lakhs. These numbers clearly show the film has failed in North India.
In Telugu states, the film opened with Rs 1.5 crore, but it quickly dropped to Rs 50 lakhs on Day 2 and Rs 52 lakhs on Day 3.
In Tamil Nadu, Day 1 was strong with Rs 13.35 crores, but Day 2 saw a big drop to Rs 6.35 crores, and Day 3 just Rs 6.38 crores. In Kannada and Malayalam markets, there was no real response.
This shows an important truth.. not every Pan-India film from the South is accepted across the country. Just dubbing in many languages and adding star power is not enough. The content must connect with people everywhere.
Thug Life teaches a clear lesson — to truly succeed across India, films must have strong content and wide appeal.
Otherwise, the dream of a Pan-India hit can quickly turn into a big flop despite the so called production values and budget that runs into hundreds of crores.
