There's a Hook Point In Every Episode: Chay

Naga Chaitanya and Vikram K Kumar who together worked for two feature films are coming up with a web series Dhootha. It will premiere on Amazon Prime on December 1st.

In exclusive interview with greatandhra.com Naga Chaitanya gave the full credit of his rugged look for Thandel to Vikram Kumar.

“We did a look test for college student character in Thank You with a long hair wig. Although it didn’t work out but I liked the look. I wanted to try that look.”

The actor informs that he thought of doing OTT content during the corona time. “I was influenced by a lot of content that I had seen on OTT content during lockdown. The big advantage is that we actors have long runtime and the content will be watched in more than 100 countries.”

Chay will be seen as an investigative journalist in the movie. “I interacted with many journalists and did a lot of homework. I read a lot of content on net. I’ve seen references of investigative journalist movies as well.”

The actor affirms he didn’t give any inputs for the series. “I felt very excited when I first heard the story. The action sequences will be very realistic. As an actor I can guarantee that, the audience can’t guess what happens next. There is a hook point towards the end of every episode. I didn’t ask for any changes in the script. But I asked Vikram to change the finishing part of my character.”

Director Vikram Kumar says, “Dhootha is a super natural thriller that unfolds the world of journalism. Dhootha is a messenger who carries a message from the incident to the public.”

About his association with Chay, the director avows, “I love Chay as an actor and as a person. It was a good experience of spending 9 months with him. We are yet to see his best. He is growing as an actor. I wrote this story for Chay.”
