S P Balasubrahmanyam is a truly deserving candidate to win Bharat Ratna by all means. He has the biggest record which cannot be broken even in the near future by any singer.
The emotional connection of multiple language audiences for him is another factor that makes him more deserving.
Bhupen Hazarika, the Assamese singer who is known to some parts in Northern India was conferred this Highest Civilian Award posthumously in the year 2019.
Lata Mangeshkar was given this award long ago in 2001 itself. So, technically by the means of worthiness SPB deserves the award.
Apart from that, the political scenario also seems to be favorable to confer this award for SPB.
The majority hearts of the people in AP, Telangana and Tamil Nadu can be won instantly by honoring SPB with this highest civilian award. So, honoring SPB with Bharat Ratna will be a road to the hearts of South Indian voters for BJP.
But waiting till elections will be a bad idea all together for BJP. Like 'make hay while sunshines', 'win the hearts while emotion is in peaks' should be the move now.
