Small Films Are Dead At The Theatres

Small Films Are Dead At The Theatres

There was a huge uproar when the AP government released a GO to run the theatres with lesser ticket prices.

The exhibitors lamented that they cannot run theatres at these rates. The section of the media made a big fuss that the government is playing with the industry sadistically.

Finally the big heroes, who grab the major chunk of this business went all the way to Jagan Mohan Reddy and requested to release a new GO with revised prices. Finally the government released a GO by increasing the ticket prices to a little.

On the contrary the prices in Telangana have been very high.

This is resulting in the heavy decline in foot falls for the medium range and small movies. Except for the big star films which have huge fan bases, all the other films are biting the mud miserably.

Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu was ill treated by the audience. DJ Tillu, the film which was expected to make wonders with collections has come out with marginal profits, Khiladi buyers lost a lot, Samanyudu, Good Luck Sakhi and Hero have seen meager footfalls only because of high ticket prices.

On the other hand even Bheemla Nayak has to pay back from their pockets despite positive talk. The producers of Radhe Shyam lost a big sum as they distributed on their own.

Now the ticket prices for RRR are shocking the people. Government has given advantage to the producers and heroes to increase the ticket prices up to Rs 75 to the existing price tags. With special permissions the first day ticket rates are going to be Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

Though Ram Charan and NTR have their respective fans, they all watch the film in the first three days. The regular audiences attempt to watch from them onwards.

We have to see how the increased ticket prices help this film. Keeping the big films aspect to check, it is declared that the days are gone for the small films at the theater.

The makers of small and mid range films are crying as they are finding it tough to see the result of their films at the box office.
