The Anthem of Sarileru Neekevvaru is an ode to a soldier by Devi Sri Prasad who also penned the lyrics.
It is rendered by legendary Shankar Mahadevan, whose vocals are the best thing about this anthem.
Devi Sri Prasad does an okay job as a lyricist but he should have left it to professional lyricists like Sirivennela or Rama Jogayya Sastri.
Tune wise the song is so-so but the orchestration is what stands out. FAME'S - Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra does a fabulous job in elevating this song. Mahesh Babu looks so authentic as an army major in the visuals shown.
Devi Sri Prasad is trying but somehow he couldn't deliver that instant chartbuster nor a soulful melody for the movie yet. Only song that is yet to be launched is the item number.
Let's hope DSP will pack a punch with the last song of the album.
