The blockbuster rise of 'Saiyaara' has taken Bollywood by storm and not everyone is thrilled.
While audiences are showering love on Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, behind the scenes, the film’s runaway success seems to have rattled a few industry peers.
Industry insiders claim that a well-known actor from a hit romantic franchise, widely believed to be Kartik Aaryan, has intensified PR efforts for his upcoming musical, reportedly to compete with Saiyaara's growing influence. There are even whispers of subtle tactics being used to divert attention away from the hit film.
Meanwhile, allegedly, Triptii Dimri of 'Animal' fame is said to have instructed her team to ensure that her next release dominates social media just like Aneet Padda’s presence around Saiyaara. The pressure to match that digital footprint appears to be mounting.
Adding fuel to the fire, netizens suspect that Veer Pahariya, who reportedly spent Rs 10 crore on PR for his debut, is pushing negative campaigns against Saiyaara, as per gossip mills. Ironically, his own film faced scrutiny over questionable ticket sales.
On a whole, the success credit of Saiyaara is credited to PR wing, which may now be an expensive thing to hire by others.
In fact, similar feat was done to 'Junior' of Kireeti in Telugu as well. But the impact is not on par with that of Saiyaara, though it could make some impressive business in the first weekend.
With all this, we can declare that it is PR's week.
